WIP Wednesday


Manu Cardigan in New Lanark DK - the end is in sight. Garter stitch edging and i-cord bind off remaining.

  2. Yes, nice looking pattern.
    I only tried circular needles once then went back to rigid sets for working in rounds. How do you find them?

    1. For something like this they are great because they allow you to knit a huge long row easily (since you're not actually joining to knit in the round). Sometimes I find them a little 'sticky' at the join between needle and cable but good quality needles would combat this.
      For circular knitting generally I think I also prefer double pointed needles as they are more flexible to accommodate increasing and decreasing stitches as you don't need to worry about getting a cord of the right length.

  4. Gorgeous colour! How do you find the New Lanark? I've always worried it might be a bit on the scratchy side, but this looks lovely!

    1. I have to say that it's not as soft as some wools - the one I've used was 10% silk but that doesn't make much difference to the softness. I think I wouldn't use it for baby/childrens clothing but I don't think it's itchy per se. That being said I haven't yet washed it so am expecting it to soften up a little.
