Spring & Birthday Vintage Pattern Giveaway

Today is the first day of Spring, and also my birthday - Happy Birthday to Me! And, er, Happy Spring everyone! To celebrate both of these events, I am delighted to be able to bring you a vintage pattern giveaway.

Let me explain a little more about the giveaway. A couple of weeks ago when I purchased the patterns I posted about here, I discovered Miss Betty's Attic on Etsy. Now, if you haven't looked at this shop before, let me tell you that you are in for a treat. There are currently nearly 1,500 (!!) patterns for sale, including some of the finest vintage gems I have seen anywhere.

Here are some of my seasonally appropriate faves:

A sweet 1930s playsuit with skirt - perfect for unpredictable Spring and Summer weather/the 20 minutes of sunshine we get annually in Scotland

Gorgeous 1950s sheath dress (look how lovely it looks in a floral print)

Adorable 1960s dress with cut out detail

Sweet 1970s top and skirt set (look, it's Miranda from Sex and the City!)

I was over the moon when Shelley of Miss Betty's Attic generously agreed to provide the prize for a giveaway on my blog. She has sooooo many fantastic patterns in her shop, there really is something for everyone, no matter era you're into.

Here's how the giveaway works:

What do I win?
A pattern of your choice up to the value of $20 from Miss Betty's Attic. The competition is open internationally.

How do I enter?:
  • Go to Miss Betty's Attic on Etsy to choose your favourite pattern from the shop
  • Leave a comment below to tell me your favourite pattern, including your contact email if this is not available through your Blogger profile
  • Gain an extra entry by following Shelley's Vintage Clothing and Sewing Pattern board on Pinterest - just leave an extra comment below to tell me you have done so.
The giveaway will be open for one week and will close at 5pm GMT on Tuesday 27th March. I will pick the winner at random and announce the winner on Thursday 29th March.

What if I don't want to wait to see if I win? - I want patterns now, dammit!
Everyone can take advantage of a 20% discount at Miss Betty's Attic, using the special code SPRINGY20. This code is valid with immediate effect and will remain in use until a week after the giveaway closes (Tuesday 3rd April).

Good luck and happy pattern shopping

I've been a longstanding fan of this shop, so your giveaway is everso tempting to me. However, I will abstain as I already have too many patterns and very little time ;o)

Wow, it took me so long to go through all those great patterns!

I finally decided on" 1940s Misses Cap Sleeve Dress Vintage Sewing Pattern, American Weekly Mail Order Pattern 3787 bust 28" uncut" It's adorable! And my size! I have such a hard time finding patterns in my size! From all the lamenting I read online from larger-figured ladies, you'd think there'd be a
lot more small-size patterns out there, but I hardly ever find anything!

However, I keep coming back to these three (I told you I couldn't choose one!):
1930s Ann Adams Mail Order Dress--I love the buttons on the front (http://www.etsy.com/listing/75952488/1930s-misses-dress-anne-adams-mail-order)

1940s Blouses--I really need more separates in my wardrobe (http://www.etsy.com/listing/91564329/1940s-misses-blouse-vintage-sewing)

1940s Vogue Dress--I LOOOOOVE the neckline on this one! (http://www.etsy.com/listing/93776446/1940s-misses-easy-to-make-dress-vintage)
