Work in Progress Wednesday

So, remember a couple of weeks ago when I asked for opinions about a sundress to sew? Out of the three patterns I shared, most of you kind commentators preferred the patterns I had decided not to sew. Then I decided that I was just going to make something altogether different, and here it is:

Vintage 1980s See & Sew pattern 5019 for a sleeveless dress with scoop neck, pockets and elasticated waist, made up in geometric printed viscose.

So far it's been easy to make, although with the inevitable challenges of working with slippy viscose. I find that spray starch tames it a little but it's still hard to get things matching up. Also, the neckline really needs a hollow chest adjustment, so I will have to go back and add some darts in at the neckline so it's not gappy. My fault for diving in without a muslin first.

After all that, our Scottish summer seems to have slipped away, so who knows when I'll even get to wear it!
