Work in Progress Wednesday

I'm making a quilt for a friend's new baby boy. It's of a similar size to one I made for Miss Kestrel, which was great for putting her on the floor for 'tummy time' and general rolling about. My quilting skills are very basic and often my corners don't match up too well, but I enjoy putting fabrics together. Tapes and records fabrics are from Frumble and the stripe is from Cotton Print Factory.

  1. It's looking fab Kerry, love the record fabric! My quilting skills are also limited - I'm currently making a patchwork blanket for my soon-to-be-born nephew and some of my edges are a bit wonky too. I like it though, it shows it's been handmade with love! x

  3. I am sure that no one will be looking at your wonky corners and will be marvelling at your quilting skills instead. This is lovely, the fabrics are great, especially the tape one. Takes me back to my teenage years swapping compilations with my friends. Xx

    1. Heh - I think it will look good overall and once the binding is on that helps finish it off. The poor boy won't know what the cassettes are, or records for that matter! I suppose it's for his parents benefit really :-)

  6. It's looking fantastic so far! I love your fabric choices and I am sure it will be really appreciated. I'm making a quilt which has taken me 18 months so far, I hope to finish it sometime next year! All my corners are wonky and the seams don't match up but I do like to make an occasional quilt as a break from garment making.
