February on #vintagepledge & Giveaway

Hi Vintage Lovers

This month I am hosting #vintagepledge activities. Marie and I are hosting on alternate months, meaning that we will each post at the start and end of the month but posts will appear on both of our blogs during the month. The host will introduce the posts coming up that month, feature some of the items made in the previous month and announce discount codes and giveaways. Yes, giveaways - so make sure you read to the end of the post!

3 Makes from January


Some of you are pledging and starting to think about what you'd like to make, while others are straight out of the blocks, and have starting sewing (and knitting) already. I've selected three January creations from the Pinterest board:
One of last year's most prolific stitchers, Fadanista confidently ticks off #vintagepledge and #junglejanuary in one elegant outfit. She's already set the pace for this year with 3 items so far, including a swimsuit
 Just Sew Jenna has pledged to sew and knit her vintage items. This stunning jumper is from a 60s Stitchcraft magazine. I have a pile of Stitchcrafts that I've never made anything from but this makes me want to revisit them
Seams Odd, Louise has started the year with some unselfish sewing in the form of funky plaid trousers for her two boys. They certainly seem to be a hit!

    My favourite is 1940's Evening Gown with Coquille Drape. It has a very interesting design. Happy stitching!

    Oh, it's so hard to choose a favorite! I really like the 1950s Short Sleeve Dress. The 1950s is my favorite era for vintage fashion.

    I need to get sewing! My favorite Mrs. Depew pattern is the 1940's wrap blouse, number 1017. It looks very versatile and comfortable.

    Could my favourite be anything but a corset? Nah! Love the #2002 French Corset/Garter Belt Pattern. Would wear this in a heartbeat. xx

    I love the 1950's Reversible Coat #6459. I had one when I was a teen ("stolen" from an auntie) and have dreamed of another since mine disappeared.

    Those 1940 coveralls look amazing, or a posf frock! I am new to the sew vintage challenge and would like to sign up. Maybe one or two items, to get me started.
    Also just wanted to say how amazing that jumper is, how i wish i could do that!!

    My favourite is the 1930's Blouse #1068a it’s a lovely style and a draft at home pattern. I have never tried those so that would be interesting

    I really love the 1930s bias tap panties, as well as the 1930s negligee, such an interesting garment! I think it would be really fun to try out the 1940s corselette as well.

    Ohh too much choice! I think the 1940 cover-alls. Thanks for linking to the old blog. I'm currently working on my biggest vintage make to date- a regency dress for a party on Saturday. Sadly I don't think it will count towards the challenge as I didn't use a pattern and instead just copied pictures and actual dresses. But it's been fun anyway.

    I love her patterns! So many great choices. I've used one of her bra patterns which went together really well but would love to try the 1930s corset pattern.

    Wow. Fadanista is so productive! And so are the other ladies. I have been thinking about what to make for my pledge this year but I haven't made anything yet. Spoiled for choice again, I think ;)

    And the mrs. Depew giveaway sounds very good... There are so many lovely things but, like some other people here, I am distracted by the lingerie and shape wear: I was eyeing up the 1950's style corselette 2003 first but then I noticed the amazing 1940's corselette 355.

    This Pledge is getting very exciting, especially seeing what you've got lined up for us this month. That Stitchcraft jumper is gorgeous - I'd better get on with my stitching.....

    My favourite is the 1930's Bias Tap Pantie as I've got just the right fabric for this in my stash! Fingers crossed!

    I've been lusting after the 1950's draped evening gown 5712 for awhile now! So it's definitely my favourite, but I pretty much love all of the patterns in the 1950's dresses and separates section!

    Wow...so many beautiful patterns to choose from! I would love to fill my lingerie drawer with many versions of pattern #2005 (40s bra and bandeau). So pretty!

    So many pretty patterns make difficult to choose! I thought I would go for a dress as I love dresses most, but the french drape blouse stole my heart, so this one is my favourite:

    I have made a couple of her patterns in the past, most recently the beach bustier and they have been super easy to put together. My current favourite is the 30s blouse 1068A with its stylish, elegant flare and pretty tie to one side. Could be made up in an array of prints this summer. Email- christina_snellgrove@hotmail.com
