Pattern Monday #50 Decimalisation Celebration


Come on everyone! It's 1971! Let's celebrate the decimalisation of the UK currency by knitting our children some heinous jumpers and cutting their fringes using a ruler!! Woo hoo! God Save the Queen and her decimalised currency!!

    I had a hairstyle like the girl on the left circa 1974 and I forgot how short our skirts were then!

    Thank heavens my mother wouldn't let me have a fringe then! I did have massive jug ears though!

    After numerous fatalities, the ball-girls at the Decimalisation Tennis Tournament were issued less subtle uniforms for better visibility to the players.

    I had a blouse just like the one on the right - used to wear it to parties with a long yellow checked pinafore dress!
