Oh my! That is a window into a different time. Could you imagine how dirty and nasty that sweater got?! My nephew/niece's uniforms are school polo shirts and shorts and those get way dirty in just one day - not even taking the heatstroke they'd get in Los Angeles wearing a wool sweater on the playground.
I wonder what the other pictures looked like for this one to be the winner in the bunch! Thanks for the giggle.
I always traul through the old knitting/sewing pattern box in charity shops, I've found some absolute corkers! Kids' and men's pictures are often the funniest. I have framed them, with added apposite captions/speech bubbles and given them to friends as presents, they always go down well. Love Curtise xx
ahah!! I love the "now in official school colours", must have been so boring to knit :)
ReplyDeleteMy mum knit every school jumper I ever had! Always grey! Love their expressions!

Oh crikey. That takes me back to my school days .... my school jumpers at one time were even more odd, being machine knitted .....
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that little guy with his plaid pants and red tie/grey sweater combo? He looks like a living Norman Rockwell painting!
ReplyDeleteIt kinda looks like they're playing Mad Men and he's ordering her around, as she's his secretary. Clearly she hates the role, and he's loving it.
ReplyDeleteMy Mum knitted my school jumpers for years and they looked just like these! Regulation grey too!

Haha I love your Pattern Mondays! Just found some howlers in my own collection actually, must stick them up for your enjoyment! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see them! If you email them to me I can include them in Pattern Monday - always looking for new and terrible knitting pictures!
DeleteOh dear... We did not have uniforms in France so it is a strange concept... I love the boy's pose though!
